Propane Refill Issue

We're watching . . . with our customers, the press given to propane refills and shortcuts taken to either cut costs or to short change customers.

At American Storage, we already addressed that issue and we'll gladly take the time to prove to anyone interested the degree of care we take to ensure our customers get what they pay for.

The Associated Press Article indicated that until last year, Blue Rhino and Amerigas, two major suppliers, put 17 to 18 pounds of propane in each 20-pound tank. Tanks should not be filled completely for safety reasons. About a year ago, that amount was cut to 15 pounds to save consumers a price hike, Blue Rhino spokesman Chris Hartley said.

Wow, cutting the amount of propane put into the tank and charging the same rate? And, the article also indicated that no one was telling the consumer that they were getting less propane.

Less product . . . more price?

At American Storage, we will take the time to weigh your tank before and after each fill and will then charge you only for the propane that you need.

We also strive to ensure that we are the best price in the market and treat our customers fairly. We care for the community and for our customers and wanted to make sure that our customers know that our refill practices are genuine and above board.
